I recently graduated from St.Joseph's College, with a BA in Child Study and Special Education. From my two years (or four semesters) of student teaching, I feel that I have great experience with working with students. I have worked in a number of different grades, different students, and different subject areas. When I am teaching I like to present real life situations, as well as concrete ideas and materials so that my students are actually seeing why this subject is a priority, as well as actually getting a hold of the problems and questions asked.
I am not a believer in quantity versus quality, I feel that a student does not need 100 of the same questions in order to show the teacher that he/she understands the problem. I would rather work on a few problems, making sure that everything is understood, rather than wasting time and doing the same problem over and over again.
Overall, I feel that I have a lot to offer my students, as well as the students family. I am able to help their child learn in a way that is comfortable, fun, creative and relaxed. Through the passion I feel for teaching and learning, there is no way that anyone would leave a session without feeling like they have succeeded. |
