I am currently working for the Internal Revenue Service as a project management certified professional, co-leading an IT project. As a senior program analyst, I evaluate various programs, procedures, and conduct risk analyses for quality assurance. As a contracting officer technical representative, I manage 9 contractors and perform contract administration with procurement officers. Over the course of my 29-years of service, I've also worked as: a web- master and designed & developed site content, and maintained an eLibrary. I've instructed and taught subjects ranging from tax law to HIV/AIDS education. As a manager, I had oversight of and was responsibile for up to 18 employees at one time. I held various other positions including in-person office contact representative, tax examiner, revenue officer, and even in-house studio production. I've been a student all my life- but really, what intelligent person isn't? After high school, I attended two universities and two community colleges, while also busy with marriage, raising children, and maintaining a home. I've been a Chrisitan since 13 years of age, when I received and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and received His gift of salvation. With the grace of God, I've raised not only my own two children, but also my deceased younger brother and sister-in-law's two boys, as well. I've been a Big Sister, a Girl Scout and Leader, camp counselor, and even substitute teacher. I suppose this mixed bag of experiences has made me a consummate learner-teacher-learner. I like to learn and to make learning fun and challenging, because there's nothing like seeing a lightbulb come on when a student -gets it. Outside of learning, analyzing, and teaching, I also enjoy and am pretty good at conducting research. I would consider it a privilege to help anyone who desires to learn and will always give it my passionate best. |

Bible studies
|
My experience with Bible Studies includes Sunday school instruction, Vacation Bible School leader, Head of Children & Youth Ministry, Christian Education Council member, Retreat Leader, Women's Bible Study Leader, and as a continuous student myself! I've also delivered a substantial number of object lessons in front of the congregation. I have a passion for writing, so I've also written plays and scripted radio-dramas on Biblical events and characters. As a choir member, we were required to research the backgrounds of songs we sang and especially those of us who had solos. Those efforts paid off by adding another level of Bible knowledge and truth. I often read several versions of Scripture along with commentary to solidify my understanding of the Word. I love the look on a student's face when they finally "get it". It is a privilege for me to share my knowledge of the Bible with others and to know that I am being obedient and pleasing to God. Teaching, is for me, the dominant spiritual gift; and, it brings me such abundant joy, that my enthusiasm is contagious!

web design
|
For a number of years, I was a webmaster in the federal government. Most of my experience was with content development, web architecture, and web analytics. I was trained in FrontPage but also self-taught in DreamWeaver, cascading style sheets, and a little .asp. I know that a decent web design is predicated on the number of unique and repeat hits to its site. Every visitor sizes up your business in the first 6-15 seconds of page viewing, and must find something appealing and captivating within that time frame, or they'll be lost forever. Information overload is a reality, and viewers want and need to make quick decisions in record time. Thus, my experience has evolved into decent web designs that offer visual aesthetics, ease of navigation, quick access, intuitiveness, and an understanding of learning styles and behavior to accommodate potential visitors. Additionally, it's critical to know and study your intended audience when developing "push" and "pull" techniques to drive visitors to your site. Web analytics provide a feedback mechanism which gauges your visitors experience with your site and lets you know what or when something isn't working. Quite frankly, no matter how technologically advanced we become, there will always be a need for personal contact somewhere along the way; and, savvy consumers know when they're being hoodwinked.
