I attended Midwood High School at Brooklyn College, where I took several AP classes during my sophomore, junior, and senior years including AP Calculus AB, AP American History, AP Physics B, AP Physics C: Mechanics and E&M, and AP Chemistry. I received an AP Scholar with Distinction award for my performance on the AP Exams. I am currently a pre-medical student at Binghamton University. My major is biochemistry with a minor in mathematics. I finished my first year with a 3.925 GPA and made the Dean's List both semesters. I have taken General Chemistry, General Physics, Calculus II, Differential Equations, Astronomy, and English. I received an A in every class except an A- in the first semester of Physics and in the English class. I have tutored many people throughout my academic career. This past semester, I tutored several classmates in Differential Equations and in Chemistry. I have also helped with other math topics such as calculus, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and tutored for the math A and B regents. My tutoring method is based upon reviewing problems and going through step-by-step explanations. I have the student explain each step to me because I know from personal experience that you can only truly understand something when you are able to explain it to someone else. Once the student has a firm grasp on the concepts, I also try to teach shortcuts and mnemonics that I have discovered for myself. I believe the most important thing about me as a tutor is that I enjoy it, and thus I am good at it. |

differential equations

I completed differential equations in Binghamton University this past semester with an A. My grades on the 3 exams were 100,92,and 100, respectively. I received a 90 on the final examination. In the course we covered separable equations, the test for exactness and its uses, first order linear equations (including Bernoulli equations), Euler-Cauchy equations, second order homogeneous and non-homogeneous equations using annihilators, and variation of parameters. We also solved systems of differential equations using matrices. We finished the course by solving equations using power series and Laplace Transforms. I am knowledgeable in all of these methods and can teach them very effectively. In addition, I can help with the integration that goes along with solving differential equations and the frequently tedious algebra.
