I recently graduated from Duke University with a degree in post-colonial North American History. I have consistently performed well on standardized tests - I have attained scores of 730 (SAT Math), 720 (SAT Verbal), 730 (SAT2 Writing), 710 (SAT2 Math 2C), 700 (SAT2 U.S. History), and 171 (LSAT - 98th percentile)- and have experience prepping students both for standardized tests and for academic courses. During High School I served for two years as a volunteer writing tutor, and tutored a 5th grader in Math and Reading. Last summer (2007) I tutored a student in SAT Verbal. I am a very patient and dedicated teacher - I recognize that all students learn differently and thus place an emphasis on devising personalized plans that address the specific needs of my students. I really enjoy teaching, and believe that the assiduous effort I put into the job has a dual benefit of providing my students both with a custom-designed lesson plan and a paradigm for the type of dedication that is neccessary to achieve success.
