I believe that students all learn in very different ways. My goal is to use teaching methods that work for you. If your weakness is writing and you tell me that you struggle every time you have to begin an essay, I will work with you to find the best way to get past that hurdle. I will get you writing and loving to write. If you have trouble reading, I will find topics that are of interest to you. If you want to learn Spanish or English, I've had to learn and teach both languages, so I understand how hard it can be to learn a second language. I believe that my strength as a tutor is that I listen to my students. If something is not working, I will change gears to make sure it does. I can be flexible in the hours we work and I thrive when you succeed.

  I moved to the US when I was six years old. At that time, there were no ESL pull-out programs in school and I did not get any support from my teachers. I know how hard it can be to learn a second language in a new environment. I have experience teaching students from all over the world including Asia, Europe, and South America. It takes patience, persistence and dedication. I can promise you all three and I will expect the same from you.

I have experience using specialized reading and writing assessments to determine which needs need to be met.
