I am the owner of a small tutoring company, I specialize in reading, math and study skills. I also have the resources to teach handwriting and report writing. I have assisted students in GED preparation. I have also taught beginning American Sign language to all ages. I am very patient and personable. • elementary (k-6th)

  I have been teaching for 8 years. Most of my teaching experience is for grades 4-8th. My bachelors degree certification is in elementary education Pre-K-8th. I have been in the tutoring business for grades K-12 for four years. I have been a director and test administrator for 2 years. I have owned my own tutoring company for 6 months.

• GED

  Juncture Academy has successfully assisted several student in GED preparation in Math, Reading and writing. The program pin points what exactly your skill gaps are and we focus on making you successful on those points. The program also provides practice tests as well.

• phonics

  As part of our reading program Juncture Academy provides phonics skills for primary grades K-3. We also provide syllabication for grades 4-8. I am very confident in our successes in our reading and phonics program. I have been working with the reading and phonics program for 4 years.

• sign language

  I have been tutoring beginning American Sign Language since 1998 to all ages. I taught Beginning sign language as an elective for grades 3-6th for one year. I also privately tutored an adult with arthritis sign language. This actually helped to keep her fingers, hands, and arms from cramping up. I also interpreted for deaf families in the Head Start program for one summer.

• study skills

  I have been providing specialized study skills strategies as part of our tutoring services for 2 years. The strategies include study habits, testing strategies, memory exercises for studying, word problem strategies, how to write a research report, maps, graphs, and charts identification, and library and research strategies. I am very confident in the program Juncture Academy provides.
