My name is Alex Vera, and I live in Midtown East Manhattan. As I write this I have no tutoring experience, but come August I will begin at my college (The College of New Jersey) as a part-time tutor in the fields of Spanish, french, basic German, economics and precalculus. I believe that as a languages tutor I would be a prime candidate, because I lived in France and Austria each for six years. I have firsthand experience with the culture and its mannerisms and styles, what the people are like, etc. so I would be able to help you speak like a native. While at the same time I know the difficulty in learning a language, since I had to learn them myself (my mother tongue is English). I've also studied economics for three years and precalculus for two--in fact, at the beginning of learning precalculus I had to hire a tutor myself, so I can appreciate the fact that students looking for help do not want an arrogant know-it-all. I would not be like that. I'm eager to help.
