About Lauren:

I’m a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BA in English. I was a dedicated and diligent student, and finished my degree early with a 3.85 GPA. I have spent my time since graduating employed as a social worker for a nonprofit children’s advocacy agency and have been accepted to a postgraduate program in Elementary Education for September. I greatly enjoy working with children in a learning environment, whether one-to-one or in a group setting. I have previously served as a tutor and mentor for middle school students, a classroom assistant/tutor in a kindergarten classroom, and developed a literacy learning program K-3rd grade students. I also have experience in editing, which has contributed to strong English language skills. I will be using current curricular materials in all my tutoring sessions given to me by current, certified teachers.
