About Cari:

My name is Cari, and I am a stay-at-home-mother of three children. I currently tutor children with special needs and have been tutoring for 8 years. Prior to having children of my own, I worked in three different public schools as a Special Education Teacher. I have taught children with learning disabilities, behavioral and emotional disorders and children with mental impairments as well. I have also worked with students one-on-one as an assistant prior to teaching in my own classroom. I have tutored several students recently with various special needs, including students with ADD, ADHD, problems with reading, writing, spelling, and math, and children who have a hard time keeping their skills up during the summer months. I enjoy seeing children thrive and watching them learn and grow and I feel it is important to establish a relationship with every student I work with so that they feel confident, comfortable, and happy about learning.

As your tutor, the following information will help you to feel more comfortable with choosing me to help you in your area of need: I am a Special Education Teacher, certified in the areas of LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1). I teach children in grades k-12 with learning disabilities, mental retardation, behavioral & emotional disorders and multiple disabilities. In my experience thus far,I have worked in three different public schools as a Special Education Teacher teaching students with specific learning disabilities, behavioral and emotional disorders and children with mental impairments as well. I have also worked with students one-on-one as an assistant prior to teaching in my own classroom. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University and I currently teach as a professor at Elmhurst College.
