From the age of 7 I have been interested in language, both foreign and English. I pursued those interests through both theatrical and foreign language studies, focusing on French. This interest evolved into a true passion when I studied abroad in Cannes, France during my college years and experienced not only the French culture and language, but also that of the Italian and Spanish. Through the understanding of a new language I firmly believe that you improve the skill and comprehension of your own, thus, the more I learned in French, the better my English became! As a teaching style, I feel that total immersion is by far the best way to learn any new language, but only in a friendly and open atmosphere. I encourage students to try to speak, write, read anything they can in a foreign language, regarding mistakes as just a part of the learning process. The only way to learn is to try and try again! |
