My name is Courtney, and I currently student teach in Folsom, CA. I am finishing up my final assignment, so by early 2008, I will have my multiple subject teaching credential, which will allow me to teach in any grade from K-6th. I am passionate about what I do, and I have a personality that allows my students and I to relate and work together to reach our goals. I approach teaching with different styles, depending on my learners. It is my opinion that the most effective teacher can adapt to her students' needs. I have been in the classroom for about three years now, and during this time I have worked one on one with many students, giving them extra help in many subjects, mostly math and literature arts, but I also speak Spanish, so I have worked with a lot of English Language Learners. I am also well-traveled, so I try to teach my students as much as I can about other cultures. I obtained my B.A. in Psychology at Long Beach State, and am finishing up at Chapman University now.

I currently hold an Emergency 30 Day teaching credential, which has allowed me to substitute teach in any grade level, K-12, for about two years. I am also currently student teaching in a 5th grade class, and before that I was in a 2nd grade class. I will recieve my K-6 Multiple Subject teaching credential in early 2008. I have completed Chapman University's curriculum, so I am educated in all subjects in all grades, K-6.

Not only have I taken Language and Literacy classes for EL students at Chapman University, but I am also bilingual, fluent in English as well as Spanish. I have also worked in a classroom containing 60% EL Students, during my first student teaching assignment.
