About
John Paul: |
I'm a 31 year-old male from Seattle, Washington. I love travel, music, sports, and education...Which is why I love tutoring.
I'm an Economics graduate from the University of Washington.
ESL:
I've taught ESL in China, Japan, Thailand, Brazil, France, and the United States...for the past 6 years and I've worked with students aged 1 to 80+...I can help you!
Guitar:
I've been studying and playing the guitar since 1995 and I've played in 3 rock bands that have played at some of the premier venues in Seattle. I like to work with beginner guitar players where I can teach the rudiments of the instrument: picking, strumming, rhythms, scales, and chord progressions.
French:
I've been studying French since 1991 and I've studied up to 300 level college French. On three occasions I've spent time in France and feel that I could help any beginner improve. I would like to work with students with conversation predominantly.
Drums:
I've been playing the drums since 2004 when I started studying drum rhythms in Curitiba, Brazil. I have since learned from two of the best rock drummers in Seattle and have continued to study the drums on a daily basis. I could help any beginner get started playing rock n' roll!!!

Student Reviews:
Flexible, Fun, Casual yet Productive!
John Paul is a flexible and helpful instructor. I am interested in multiple styles of music, which he has been able to accomodate with his varied materials and willingness to research artists I like. On the scheduling side, he can be accomodating to my availability, which is always appreciated.
Most importantly, I endorse him not only as one who knows how to play guitar, but also as one who knows how to patiently teach (the two do not always go hand-in-hand). His laid-back style is one which I can't imagine anyone not getting along with, and his approach allows learning music to be casual yet productive while genuinely pleasant.
