• elementary (k-6th)

  I am a Massachusetts licensed teacher in grades 1-6 and licensed in special education pre-k through grade 8. I have taught in Massachusetts public schools, as well as privately tutored in this grade level for 10 years. I am certified in the Wilson Decoding and Encoding program and taught this reading and spelling program in both group and individual settings for 7 years. I am familiar with and have administered the MCAS tests for grades 3-5.

• ESL/ESOL

  I have worked with students and adults in various settings (hospitals, public schools, and summer camps)whose primary language was one other than English. I am a Wilson decoding and encoding certified instructor and have used this method of teaching with ESL students for seven years.

• phonics

  I am a Wilson decoding and encoding certified teacher. This program was developed over twenty years ago and is specifically designed to teach students of any age who need a structured, multi-sensory approach to learning phonics. The program breaks the English language down into six syllable types and teaches the rules for each of the six syllables. Each lesson addresses the reading and spelling rules associated with the particular syllable type being worked on at the time. Constant review and practice is also built into each lesson.

  I am a Massachusetts licensed special needs teacher in the academic areas of pre-k through grade 8. I have worked in public and private schools servicing students with mild to severe disabilities for 7 years. I have over 10 years of experience of working with special needs children in a variety of settings (hospitals, public and private schools, swim lessons, and summer camps). In addition to working directly with students and their families I have conducted academic testing for children with special needs, administered standardized tests, created portfolios, as well as written and implemented IEPs.

  I have worked with students of varying ages and abilities in many academic areas for over 12 years. A primary focus of my work in all areas (private and public schools, hospital settings, tutoring sessions, and Montessori schools)is creating unique and individual organization and study skill materials to meet the needs of the individual students that I work with.
