I received my B.S. in Biological Sciences and will be completing my M.S. in Biomedical Sciences by October 2008.I have been tutoring middle school, high school, and college-level students in math, science, and writing since 1992. I have experience in both formal (classroom) and informal (one-on-one) settings. The students I have tutored have come mainly from referrals from teachers and other students as well as my own classmates.I have a love for Mathematics. I cover topics in Basic Math to Calculus. I was a Math tutor for the Princeton Review, so SAT Math tutoring is available. My academic and work background in the sciences should speak volumes about my knowledge in the sciences. Whether it's writing essays, book reports, articles, or resumes/CVs, I use a writing structure that can be applied across all projects and levels of experience.Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) are not a problem. TEACHING STYLE: It depends on the student. The learning style of each student is very important. The background of each student will determine my method and pace. Generally, I use simple examples for clarification and more complex examples to build the knowledge base of the student. I give my students the opportunity to switch roles with me after a lesson. During these 'Teach Me' sessions, where I become the student and the student becomes the teacher, I can be sure that the student has grasped new information. This not only continues the learning process, but it also builds confidence.I am outgoing and I like my students to become interested in learning, to ask questions, and to challenge me. From Grade School to Continuing Education students....Students of all ages are welcome. Thanks:o)
