I've completed ten years of piano instruction and had began playing since the age of 6. I have a lot patience and love to explain and present clear information. I have experience with tutoring young children, college students and older adults on school work and music. I have a B.A. in international relations and can speak Cantonese. I am also a returned Peace Corps volunteer, from Niger, in West Africa. I really enjoy teaching and helping students understand the goals and concepts of the subject.

  I have been classically trained in piano, both in composition and playing music. As a student, I've received honorary mention and placed in the top three in competitions. I passed all 10 levels required for the Certificate of Merit for piano under the Music Teacher Association of California. This means that I have achieved mastery of the piano. I've also played in school orchestras and also as accompagnement to singers. I am familiar with piano music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary periods. All my music composition tests I've passed with 90% or higher - which helps the player understand the music more clearly. I am comfortable tutoring beginning to intermediat levels (grade 1 to grade 6; there are 10 levels). I am comfortable tutoring any age for students.
