elementary (k-6th) I am currently a substitute teacher in the private schools in our area. Working with all ages has taught me how unique and different learning is at every age. With younger children I love to get them involved in their learning. Sitting in a chair and being taught lecture style has its importance, but statistically girls learn better this way. Young boys learn better when they are able to put their hands on what they are doing. I feel that there is a way to combine the two, or tailor it to the need and learning style of your particular child... not children in general. Teachers today have a huge load put on them in trying to teach a large number of children, and accommodate each one in turn.
