ear training
I graduated with my B.A. in Music Magna Cum Laude and am now pursuing my master's in Vocal Pedagogy. As a voice and piano teacher, I find that ear-training is a natural part of all musical education. Developing the ear is essential to becoming a good musician.
piano
I teach piano to people of all ages, from children age 4 up to adults in their 50's. In our lessons, I will help you discover the joys of playing an instrument, and how to play with feeling. I will help you compose your own pieces as I believe that a well rounded musician needs to be creative as well.
sight singing
Whether you sing in a choir or enjoy singing on your own, sight-singing is a crucial tool to help you learn your part faster. I can help you develop this skill and you will be amazed at how fast you can learn!
voice (music)
I come from a family of musicians. For many years, I sang in choirs in Belgium, and participated in many choir tours, both to Europe and the Caribbean. I was also in a choir that sang at Carnegie Hall in New York as well as in a choir directed by Duain Wolfe. After pursing singing at an amateur level, I decided to learn about it professionally and went back to university and got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. I am currently studying to get a Master's in Vocal Pedagogy. And last but not least, I love teaching voice!
proofreading
For the past four years, I have been a proof-reader for a quarterly academic journal called "World Order Magazine". I have an eagle's eye for details, including detecting typos, errors in grammar, meaning, clarity as well as recognizing inconsistencies, either in punctuation or layout. I love proof-reading as it is something that comes easily to me.
