About Melissa:

Hi! My name is Melissa and I tutor chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics, math, Spanish and French. I have a Bachelor of Arts in General Science (with a concentration in Biology) and a Bachelor of Arts in French from Grinnell College, a small school in Iowa. I recently graduated and am now living in the Chicago area. I am currently taking a few prerequisite courses in order to get into Rush University College of Nursing. As a tutor I have learned that students often have problems because they are unable to understand the material in a way that relates to their world, to their lives. My number one goal in tutoring is to explain complex concepts in a way that is relatable and understandable to the student. I have the advantage of being a student myself, so I am extremely sympathetic to those that are struggling. I often tell students that I understand why they are struggling because I was once there myself.
