I have a certificate to teach English to speakers of other languages and have done so in various settings (French high school students, Hispanic immigrants, Korean students etc). I minored in French at University and then lived off and on in France for 3 years. Last winter I lived in D.R.O.C. and thus used more everyday French language skills. I've taught elementary school classes (a wide variety of subjects from poetry to basketball) in a 3rd world setting as well as tutored children in study skills for after school programs in inner-city Chicago. I am very physically active as well having played on various teams in high school (swim, basketball, softball, volleyball) and recently worked as a tour guide leading multi-sport and bicycle tours in France and Alaska. I am well read in Christian philosophies, intercultural relations etc. |

Bible studies

I was raised in a Christian home and therefore attended numerous Bible classes and clubs. I also was the director of a children's Bible club while attending college. I have read numerous books on various doctrines and theories that make up Christianity and attended two Bible programs in Europe (in the Torchbearer Bible School system). I am very interested in Christianity and feel I know it significantly well enough to instruct others in the core teachings.

elementary (k-6th)

I have tutored elementary school students on study skills and helped them with their homework in various subjects (for a program in Chicago). In D.R.O.C., last winter, I taught 7th grade Social Studies (focusing mainly on geography but also WW 1 and WW 2 as well as various other aspects of social studies), 6th grade math (mainly algebra/geometry mix), ESL tutoring for non-native speakers of English, Drama, Basketball, and reading for 1st and 3rd grades. I also taught some grammar and poetry to the 7th and 8th grade class.
