More On Brianna's Subjects:

  • general music

I have been involved with music since I was little. I can read music, I know basic and intermediate music theory(I'm working on being advanced as I'm a musical theater major right now),I play the violin, and I am a vocalist. I can also sightread, count music, and can play basic piano, bass, cello, and viola. Having been in choir for many years and having worked with a vocal coach, I also am familiar with many artists, both past and present, I know lots of music from nearly every genre, and I generally know lots about music.

  • sight singing

Everyday for the last four years, we began our choir class sightreading. Needless to say, I am a pretty proficient sightreader now. I was a section leader in my choir(meaning I lead the section during sightreading, amongst other things)I have been in honors choirs where one of the main audition parts is sightreading, and I know solfege very well(which is a key part to knowing how to sightread). I have also worked with a vocal coach for several years, where I grew in my sightreading abilities. Having been in orchestra and choir, I can sightread well for both the violin and for vocals.

  • soccer

Although I am a very artistic person today, I am still very athletic. I played many sports growing up, especially soccer, which I played for seven years. I played every position, primarily goalie, however, I most enjoyed being a forward. I am very good with basic soccer concepts such as dribbling and kicking the ball, and I could also work with goalies, as that was my main position. I know all of the rules in soccer and can also teach fundamentals like shooting, drop kicks, throw ins, head hits, chest hits, etc.

  • study skills

I value education very much. I am fortunate enough to have a full ride scholarship to Columbia College and most of this scholarship is pended on maintaining a good gpa, which I have done quite easily. I have a good work and study ethic and maintain a suitable 3.5 gpa. I am a creative person, therefore, I find fun ways of studying and retaining information, which could be especially helpful for someone struggling with understanding concepts or being too bored to study. I like finding fun, artistic ways for completing homework assignments and staying in a simultaneous study pattern.

  • theatre

I'm a musical theater major at Columbia College Chicago. I have had extensive acting training in just about every aspect of acting, including stage, on-camera, improv, cold reading, auditioning, monologues, tv commercials, sitcoms, musical theater, etc. I have also been in numerous shows including A'int Love Awful, Life with Father, The Hollow, and Foosball to name a few. I was also an IMTA member in 2006, International Model Talent Association, which is an elite talent convention, and in high school I was in the International Thesbian Society.

  • violin

Music has always been a part of my life. I was in orchestra for six years and during much of that time I studied privately with a private instructor. Although I learned bass, cello, and viola, I was primarily a violin player. I can read music well and have a good understanding of music theory, as I am also a vocalist. I have many fun, easy techniques that make learning the violin easy, especially for beginners.

  • voice (music)

I have been singing since I was about six years old. I am now a musical theater major at Columbia College and I am constantly growing as a singer. I was in choir all through high school, I have been in honors choirs, I have sang in recitals, and I worked with a vocal coach for five years. Although I am a musical theater major, I have an extensive music repitoire ranging from Italian arias, spanish songs, pop style music, and musical theater style as well.
