I have some experience with elementary k-6th grade by taking and passing the MSAT test which was a multiple subject assessment test for elementary school students. I have also worked in a kindergarden, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th , and 5th grade classroom by being an elementary teacher. I really enjoyed that time because I got inspired to see students grow and develop mentally from the beginning to the end of the year. I see a change of maturity in them as their minds are sharpened and become more disciplined in their everyday surroundings. They become more aware of things and know how to acquire resources and reach their goals.
Moreover, I enjoyed the elementary level as students are curious and become explorers in their environment while still having a sense of innocence. I really see a lot of potential in them and they are still able to be molded and shaped for good in society.
I have taught them in lesson plans with math, english, science, and social studies as a Kumon, SCORE, and Sylvan instructor, a tutor, a YMCA counselor, a church sunday school teacher and counselor, and a teacher who taught at a regular classroom, making lesson plans, delivering them, and supervising the kids for safety and other factors. I have seen them interact with each other and resolved some issues. I have rotated around the classroom and usually is in great social contact with students to ensure they are on task and working to their utmost capacity.
These are some of my experiences working with children in this range for over 10 years.
