Hello! I'm looking for kids in need of mentoring or tutoring. Since I was 17, I've worked with children every year. As a senior in high school, I participated in my town's Big Brother equivalent and established a healthy and mutually positive relationship with a first grader who was without a father figure in his life. The next summer, I worked at a day camp with children of the same age, and was promoted to assistant head counselor midway through. Throughout college, for all four years, I worked in an afterschool program at a local elementary school, mainly with fourth and fifth graders. I worked with students individually on math, reading and writing. Depending on how productive the afternoon was, we would play soccer or basketball at the end, or chess or some other strategic game if the weather was poor. Now, I'm out of school, working, and hoping to develop some new bonds with kids who need or want a little extra attention. I'm flexible, willing to adapt to each child's needs, and happy to work with parents or teachers to determine the best method of tutoring. I'm always looking for new challenges. |
