Hi!
I am excited about this opportunity to provide my expertise and enthusiasm my students.
Since graduating from Stanford University in 2001 with a BA in History, I've worked as a freelance writer and editor. In addition to serving as the editor of three published books, I have also written articles for magazines including AAA Westways Magazine and for Web sites including AOL CityGuide San Diego and Tan Envy. I am also a highly skilled proofreader and editor and a very creative wordsmith.
With respect to my teaching resume, I earned my teaching credential from San Diego State University in 2007. I've taught ESL (English as a Second Language) for 2+ years, for both the Berlitz Language School in San Diego and the Humana Language School here in Atlanta. I currently teach English to a group of Korean students, which I love! I hope to earn my CELT certification sometime next year. I also teach an SAT Writing, Reading and Essay class to high schoolers 2 nights a week.
I adore teaching and I have a knack for it; most recently, my ESL students informed my boss that I am the best ESL teacher they've had, something I'm very proud of.
Of additional interest - I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and am quite fluent in Italian!
As a teacher, I'm very encouraging, upbeat and enthusiastic. I take to great lengths to make sure my students understand the material being taught.
Thank you, I look forward to working with you.
