GED

Hi,
I am very interested in tutoring students for their GED. I am a recent graduate of Skidmore college where I majored in anthropology, and minored in environmental studies. Currently, I am enrolled in SUNY Albany obtaining my MA in anthropology. I am proficient in English, math, social studies, language arts, writing, and science, far beyond a high school level. I am also a very patient, motivated, and positive teacher who does not become frustrated or exasperated easily.
I have examined a GED study book, and I feel confident that I would be a very effective GED tutor.
I believe that anyone can improve with the right help, and I am dedicated to providing assistance to those who need it.

Hi,
My name is Jasmine Munk. I am a 2007 graduate of Skidmore college with a major in anthropology and a minor in environmental studies. I took three semesters of Russian. Although I am by no means fluent, I can read the alphabet and I could teach somebody some basic Russian and general vocabulary. I also have two very good text books and a work book that I could photocopy lessons from.
Thanks,
Jasmine

Hi,
My name is Jasmine Munk. I am a 2007 graduate of Skidmore college, where I majored in anthropology and minored in environmental studies. Currently, I am earning my anthropology masters at SUNY Albany.
I am quite interested in becoming a study skills tutor. Throughout my academic career I have become an organized and efficient student. I have also come to understand the importance of creating a "game plan" when approaching an exam, weekly quizes, or a research paper. I also understand the immense value to keeping neat, clear notes, both inside, and outside the classroom.
For an unorganized student I would suggest and implement the following points:
1. Have the appropriate tools whether they be a multi-subjected notebook, binder, or folder(s)- as many are needed
2. Give the student a tutorial on how to take clear, well organized notes inside the classroom, and at home
3. Help the student to organize their work load using a planner or calender
4. Help the student to makes notes in an outline form or on note cards- whichever is more effective in a given situation
5. Finally, I will help my students to memorize tricky or tedious facts by the use of mnemonic devices
Above all, I believe that every student has the potential to become well organized and improve their grades with the help of a positive, patient, and motivated tutor.
