I’m a native Chinese, fluent in both Chinese and English. I have a BA in Literature, and an MA in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. I have rich experience in teaching, and have taught all kinds of students ranging from middle school students to university students. In my past years of teaching experience, I designed curriculums to teach students speaking, listening, reading, and writing, edited more than 20 textbooks and offered tailor-made courses to companies. In addition, I have been focusing my academic research on second language acquisition, which helps to provide insights into how Chinese students learn English and how foreigners learn Chinese. What is worth mentioning is that a joint teaching project I participated in won national second prize in 2005 in China.
I love teaching and enjoy working with students because it marries my skills with my interests. I am creative, empathetic, and enthusiastic and interested in other people. When I teach, I use my creativity to create lessons that engage the students, my empathy to understand the students and their needs, and my enthusiasm to engage the students in fun and dynamic activities. In return, I receive the pleasure of working in fulfilling a job in which I can learn more about people and their different cultures.
