I am currently a high school math teacher in my 5th year of teaching. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Economics with a concentration in Math from the University of Illinois. I have a Master's Degree in Math Education, as well. I have been tutoring my students before and after school during my entire teaching career. I also have taught many students how to play guitar, as well.
When I am in the classroom, I make sure to drive home the topics that students will see most on standardized tests (such as the SAT or ACT) and in future math classes and jobs they might take/have. I really enjoy working with high school and middle school students, and I am laid-back about the way I approach tutoring: whatever YOU want to learn, I will give you the background you need to learn it and help you get to the place where you know that idea/concept backwards and forwards! I will do your homework with you, I will help you study for tests, anything you need!
I have also developed a very specialized way to study for Math tests, which I can share with you (which is VERY different from studying for any other type of test). My entire goal is to get you to the point where you are a self-sufficient student: getting you to the place where you can tutor yourself and you don't need my help anymore! I really hope I get to work with you!!
