Thank you for you looking at my profile, so let me tell you about myself.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree of Science and majored in Finance. I chose Finance as my major because it is a math intensive subject-math comes to me quite easily. I studied many subjects on the college level and found them all enjoyable. I do have some tutoring experience gained from basically carrying five people through my statistics class and and even more though my piano class. I also volunteered tutoring elementary school children a couple days a week.
I would feel most comfortable teaching piano, because it is one of my passions. I took formal lessons for two years when I was 8, but have been playing ever since. I would have no problem teaching your child basic piano and music theory. I received an "A" from my college level piano and theory class as well.
Tutoring children in elementary to 7th grade math is something that I am positive I could do. I have always enjoyed working with numbers because numbers do not lie. I am extremely confident in my skills as a tutor because I have been informally been tutoring fellow classmates all my life.
My fundamental teaching belief is that the child must thoroughly understand something before he or she can move up. The base must be strong before you can start building up--this is especially true with piano and math. I am extremely patient, hands-on, and considerate when it comes to tutoring people. I do not care how long it takes, as long it is done right.
