Dear Students and Parents,
My name is Shashank and I am currently an undergraduate student (3rd year) at the University of California, Berkeley, where I am studying Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies. Throughout my high school and college years, I have tutored friends and peers in numerous fields including history, mathematics, life sciences and foreign languages. I have held leadership roles in numerous student organizations in high school including Model United Nations, California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society, to name a few. Furthermore, I have volunteered in multiple after school tutoring programs and have always received positive remarks from students and parents. My teaching style has always been student-based and I have always kept my students’ best interest in mind. Currently, I am a tutor for Mathnasium, a math tutoring service in Lake Forest, California.
Through my first two years at Berkeley, I have worked in two positions- one of which was affiliated with the University and the other with an independent research facility near the University. At this research facility, I was the assistant to the primary physician (Dr. James E. McFeely) and had to perform much of the same tasks that are asked of me in this position. I have gained proficiency in working with all the Microsoft Office applications and had to perform much of the same duties required in this position such as scheduling meetings, data entry, mailings and following up on phone calls. In addition, I have served as an officer in multiple student organizations including Berkeley Model UN (the oldest Model UN conference in the nation) and ASUC (the largest student group at Berkeley). These various experiences have assisted me in becoming a detail-oriented, organized and conscientious individual, traits that I am eager to add to as a WyzAnt Tutor.
Sincerely,
Shashank
