  I am not certified in ESOL but I am a High School Teacher and I deal with ESOL students on a daily basis as they are part of my language classes. When I teach my language students about the French Grammar, I have to compare it to the English grammar and language, and explain the different expressions and the sentence structure. The language class also involves translations from French to English and vice-versa, on a regular basis. It takes a lot of patience and a lot of practice.

  I used to teach a "Critical Thinking Class" about 5 years ago to a group of High School students who needed help in basic skills. I mainly taught them how to organize a weekly school schedule and follow a weekly routine, how to organize their time so they can have study time and fun time. I taught them how to write a resume, in case they wanted to apply for a part-time or fulltime job; they also learned how to take notes in class, how to write a summary and an essay, mainly all the basic skills they needed to live an organized school life.
