About Jesse:

My name is Jesse. I am an NYS Certified Band Teacher. I received my Masters and certification in May 2005 and have 30 additional credits in addition. My first year of teaching I worked as a band director in NYCBOE, and last year to current I am a band director for Paul Effman, directing bands around the NYC Metropolitan area. I have experience teaching individual/small group/band instruction to Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Trombone, and drums for beginning to intermediate NYSSMA III/IV musicians. Trumpet is my primary instrument and teach all levels, grades 4-12 and even college students. I was a brass coach in ISO Youth Orchestra from 2004-2006, freelancer, and a performer in the Royal Brass. In addition, I utilize music technology for arranging band music, and encourage interdisciplinary study in music. I encourage my students to be their own teachers, and be reliant on themselves and not the teacher. I do this through constant inquiry & questioning. My student is resilient, well rounded, musically eclectic, and able to pinpoint his/her problems, which ULTIMATELY leads to constant and steady progress.
