Amy's Experience:
accountancy
As my background indicates, accounting plays a large role in my professional career. I have received a Masters in Accounting from Northeastern University and utilize each day in exciting ways. My career has lead me from one of the Big 4 accounting firm to one of the largest banks in the area.
economics
My bachelors degree in Consumer Economics and Finance has enabled me to excel in the field of business. I have studied a wide variety of topics within economics, from macro and microeconomics to personal finance and international business.
elementary (k-6th)
I have had previous experience in helping elementary age students with various subjects, including reading comprehension, math, study skills, phonics, english, science and history. Throughout my entire academic life I have either tutored or helped volunteer/mentor young children and I find tutoring them to be inspiring. They want to learn and each session is very rewarding, both for student *and* tutor. I have more experience in the 4th to 6th grade range, but have also volunteered with 2nd and third grade students. I would love the chance to help a child succeed early in their academic career.
GED
Tackling the GED is never easy. Most students have a million and one other tasks in their life pulling on their time and my goal is to make studying for the GED methodical, successful, and maybe even a little fun. My specialty lies in the math portion of the GED and application of the many formulas given. I'd be happy to help any student succeed and move to the next stage of their education/career with the passing of the GED!
grammar
Grammar is the building block for all other subjects. From writing your essays to reading math word problems, if grammar is not mastered, it will be difficult to understand coursework.
My tutoring in grammar is tailored to the specific needs of each student.
proofreading
Proofreading your own paper can be, for some, like eating your own cooking. You may think it's wonderful, but others might have something to say!
I strive to take a completely impartial look at your work and hope that you will glean much out of my constructive criticism. Whether it is spelling, punctuation or verb tense errors; or reading for content, I will provide a thorough consultation.
