I have never met a motivated student whom I could not teach. There is an easy way to learn everything. I started tutoring when I was 12 years old, since I was the oldest of 5 children, why not? That gives me 53 years of experience(do the math). With the exception of my first daughter,I never tried to tutor my own children. There is just something in nature that forbids it. I did tutor other children at my children's school with great success.
I spent the last 3 years in Texas at my old high school where I tutored what they called "At Risk" students in mathematics. I prefer to teach only math because, as a boy, it was the only subject that gave me trouble. It took me years to discover why I had to struggle, and that will be the reason that you will find it easy to work with me.
I only wear white shirts that have 4 pockets plastered(not really, but sewn) across the front. So, it's okay to tease me about the way I dress. Oh, yes, and my glasses sit on the end of my nose, not at the top. There is a little bald spot upon my noggin where I once wore a pony-tail. One day it just fell off(just kidding). The only thing I request is that I have a minimum of two hours with a student. It will take that long to discover where your problems started, and where they will end.
My best educational experience was teaching a two year old girl to read. The two toughest jobs were teaching Geometry and Algebra to blind students. If I can do that, I can teach you. I love what I do.
You will not only learn with me, you'll laugh along the way.
Sincerely,
Mr. D
