Hi, students...if you want training in classical music, or the Italian language that frequently accompanies it, I can give you a hand, as well as helping with your reading and writing. I just finished the joint program between The Juilliard School and Columbia University, where I completed 6 years of classes in 4 years. While I finished my music degree in opera at Juilliard, I took classes at Columbia in anthropology, sociology, psychology, and archaeology, so I have done plenty of research and written many papers. I have also studied Italian in Italy and will have you sounding like a native. I've always been an athlete, and am in the process of getting certified as a personal trainer, so if you need a break from music history and ear training lessons, I can show you the most effective ways to lift weights. I scored a 1510 on the SATs back when there were only two sections (800 Verbal) so we can work on standardized tests and the vocabulary that goes with them. I have been teaching voice lessons and training clients privately for the 4 years I have been in New York City, to all age groups from kindergarten to senior citizen. My teaching style is specific and practical...I make sure that you, the student, actually DO plenty of whatever we are learning. I'll make sure you learn to actually speak the language and sing in the right technique, not just be able to answer questions on paper about how to do it. We'll write together and edit together, so that everything you produce and genuinely your own style, and most of all, we will work at the pace that YOU set, so that you never get bored or frustrated. I hope to hear from you guys soon!
