About Laura:

I feel comfortable in a wide range of subjects, and love to communicate with students from high school and beyond. My background and experience is an eclectic, liberal arts education meshed with a strong medical pedagogy. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida (valedictorian in highschool) as a pre-medical student (Microbiology major). I spent 2.5 years in medical (allopathic) school, passing the USMLE Step 1 Board examination. I then went on to tutor premeds and pre-dental students at Kaplan Test Centers, Ltd. and at Princeton Review. My Master's degree is in Public Health-Epidemiology (attained at U.S.F.)and I then went on into the U.S. Air Force as a Public Health Officer. Currently, I teach full time at the college level. I have tutored not only in chemistry and biology, but also in test-taking skills, English (client remarks available upon request), and the NCLEX Nursing Exam.
