About Me:
I recently graduated from The Juilliard School. I majored in Trumpet, but acquired a substantial amount of knowledge in the fields of music history, theory, and education. I also studied piano, ear training, sight singing, conducting, and German. I had a Juilliard Teaching Fellowship for two years, during which I taught both private and group trumpet lessons. These lessons were at Juilliard and in the New York City Public School system. I have had private students for 6 years.
Before attending Juilliard, I went to the Juilliard Pre-College Program, a competitive training program held on Saturdays, for 5 years. I also played three sports (softball, track, and soccer) in addition to training Japanese Karate for 13 years. I took 7 AP classes (including Spanish). This information is just so you parents know that I know what it means to work hard, excel, and also be well-rounded. I can help your child do the same.
If it is of any significance, I love kids. I have a younger sister and 9 young cousins! This, coupled with my 11 years of babysitting experience, make it easy to communicate with kids. My formal training in classical music and Japanese karate has influenced the disciplinary side of my teaching, which is ample. My years of playing on sports teams and in orchestras plus my youth mean befriending children is easy as well.
I hope you'll allow me to spread the joy of music to your child. Thank you.
