Hi! My name is Laura and I'm an awesome tutor! I received my Bachelor's degree (BM) in Vocal performance from Oklahoma City University-Bass School of Music in 2007. I am currently pursuing my Graduate Performance Diploma at Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. I am proficient in the areas of voice, ear training, sight singing, piano, music theory, music history, acting, theatre, and basic dance (tap, jazz, ballet). I have taught privately for over ten years in the areas listed above. I am friendly, fun, creative and outgoing! I have worked with children for over fifteen years in various programs. I have been the Director for the Children's Opera/Musical Theatre program at Light Opera Oklahoma, a teacher at a three-week musical theatre camp in my hometown, a private voice and piano teacher, and private tutor in other subjects including English and reading comprehension. I have been performing professionally in music and theatre since the age of 8. I have many years of valuable experience to pass on to my students. I am looking for students who want to have fun and learn at the same time! I believe the arts are key to any well-rounded education. I particularly enjoy working with beginning students and I structure my curriculum around the individual goals of each student.

• ear training

  I have my Bachelor's degree in Vocal performance from Oklahoma City University. During my four years as a student I took six semesters of ear training as part of my degree. In order to move on each semester you had to pass rigorous ear training tests. I also have taught ear training for six years in my studio in Oklahoma.

  I have a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University. I am working on my Masters of Music degree in Opera performance at Longy School of Music. I have been performing since the age of 8.

  I have a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University. I was required to take Music History courses for four semesters in addition to Opera History and Music Theatre History and Vocal Literature Seminar. I am currently attending Longy School of Music where it is required that we take a Music History proficiency exam in order to graduate. I am very knowledgeable in this field due to my previous and current studies.

  I have a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University. I am working on my Masters of Music degree in Opera Performance from Longy School of Music. As part of my undergraduate degree I was required to take four years of music theory courses including analysis, composition, and counterpoint. In order to complete my graduate degree I will take a series of music theory exams as well as continued education courses on this subject. I have been teaching music theory for six years in my private studio as a part of voice and piano training.

  I have a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University. I have been taking private piano lessons since the age of 8. I have been teaching piano privately since 2000. I have a minor in piano from OCU and took piano each semester as part of my degree. In order to obtain my degree I had to pass a very difficult piano proficiency exam displaying my knowledge in the following areas: sight reading, harmony, choral score reading, four part hymn reading, voice warm up, accompaniment, solo repertoire, minor scales, major scales, and correct fingerings for each scale. I will continue lessons at Longy School of Music where I am currently obtaining my Masters degree in Opera Performance and will also have to take a proficiency exam to graduate.

  I have my Bachelor's degree in Vocal performance from Oklahoma City University. During my four years as a student I took six semesters of sight singing as part of my degree. In order to move on each semester you had to pass rigorous sight singing tests. I also have taught sight singing for six years in my studio in Oklahoma. I have been a member of at least three choirs since I was a teenager which uses tremendous sight singing skills. I am asked to sight sing things all the time during auditions for singing jobs.
