About Sara-Grace:

I suppose that it is a lofty assertion to say that I am the nicest tutor ever, but I really am a very patient, friendly, and supportive tutor. I have 3 years experience tutoring math and French at the college level as well as English and ESL to high school students. I have also taught GED math in a classroom setting. I am fluent in French and have experience tutoring all levels and abilities in the subjects listed, including students with learning disabilities. I am employed by UMASS Boston as a tutor in math and French and also work as a Pilates instructor. I love teaching and would love to work with you to help you achieve your goals. More On Sara-Grace's Subjects:

  • ESL/ESOL

I am writing to express my desire to be an ESL tutor for Wyzant. I recently graduated Suma cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a degree in French, (literature concentration), and I am currently in the process of applying to medical school. Being fluent in French, and having a working knowledge of Spanish, German, and Wolof, I am familiar with the idiosyncrasies of languages and sensitive to the difficulties that may arise when trying to learn a new language. I have tutored many students for the verbal portion if the MCAS exam, almost all of whom speak English as their second or even third language. I also volunteered as an ESL tutor at the Belchertown Teen Center while attending UMASS Amherst, helping high school students improve their English. I am very familiar with the common problems ESL students have concerning grammar, tenses, and sentence structure in English. I received a score of 750 out of 800 of the verbal portion of the SAT exam, (the average SAT verbal score is 500), and consider English to be one of my strongest subjects. I love meeting people from other countries and learning about other cultures, and find tremendous pleasure in helping students achieve their goals, whether it be learning English or otherwise.
