My experience in the above referenced subject areas is very extensive. In the past, I competed frequently in the Massachusetts State Forensic League in the subjects of extemporaneous speaking, play reading, radio broadcasting, and humerous interpretation. I maintained ranking within the Top 5 each year. I have also been involved in community theatre for thirteen years and have extensive knowledge of the various roles involved in producing an outstanding play. I worked for 5 years at Discjockey.com which was one of the worlds first internet radio stations. I enjoyed my role as a programmer and internet radio discjockey. I was responsible for programming 45 audio programs, producing jingles, and writing all of the in-show commericals. I also had the opportunity to conduct a number of artist interviews.
My professional background continues in the field of communication. I am presently a college advisor and counselor at a university in the Greater Boston area. I enjoy working one on one with my students as I prepare them for the grueling curriculum of being full time students.
My teaching style tends to be very personal. I love to build rapport with my students, motivate, and support them all while addressing their concerns and needs. I am a firm believer that all children have the capability to learn the subjects they struggle in. I also believe in creating and/or finding a way for that child to learn the material in a way that they can understand. I use tactics and methods that can be applied not only to their school work, but for everyday life as well. |
