About Chanelle:

Greetings!

During high school I organized a weekly tutor session for middle school and high school students. Each session did not only focus on areas where the students struggled, but also a time to talk about positive things that were going on in their lives; a time to laugh and have fun while getting necessary help. My apprpach to tutoring, is to also act as a mentor.
As a recent graduate of a very competitive liberal arts college in Pennsylvannia, I love to teach and learn. The sciences and math areas are my strong points, however I was a music minor and have been playing the saxophone since the 4th grade as well.
I would love to be both a tutor, mentor and overall positive role-model for you!

More On Chanelle's Subjects:

  • elementary (k-6th)

I love children. In fact second to my passion for the healthcare and medical field, is teaching and mentoring children and adolescents. This summer I will be an assistant director for children ages 5-12 in inner-city Philadelphia, where we will focus on literacy!

  • general computer

Today computer skills are necessary for everyday tasks. I have been computer savvy since middle school. I remember setting up my first email account one summer during high school. When I went off to college I received my own laptop and all of my papers, projects and presentations had to be completed through many of the applications in microsoft office.

  • general music

I love music, all genres. I have been playing the alto saxophone since the 4th grade. Throughout high school I was in the concert band and jazz ensemble. I have marched in parades and played in concerts. Also in high school I sang in the concert choir. Although after going to college, I did not play saxophone as much, I was still exposed to music by becoming a music minor and singing in the gospel choir.

  • physical science

Growing up I really did not have an interest in the sciences at all. However throughout high school there were several science teachers that sparked my passion for the science field. When I went to college I majored in Biology and worked for 2 years in the laboratory doing research on the nematode, C.elegans. Now my focus is the healthcare field and the scientific basis that comes along with that.

  • saxophone

I have been playing the alto saxophone since the 4th grade. Throughout high school I was in the concert band and jazz ensemble. I have marched in parades and played in concerts. Although after going to college, I did not play as much, I was still exposed to music by becoming a music minor and singing in the gospel choir.

  • swimming

I have been swimming since I was 3 years old. At the age of 11 I started to swim competitively with the Cape Cod Swim Club. When I went to college, I swam on this DIII team for all four years, and was co-captain my junior and senior years! I love the water, and love the sport.
