Hello parents and students! Here are the not-so-interesting part: BA Development Studies (cum laude); MBA (3.70 GPA); held corporate executive positions; taught in MBA program; own/manage management consulting services. And now the so-so segment: a student leader; founding chair of various organizations and a scholarship foundation; a stage actor in school; did professional stage acting (mostly comedy); competitive in badminton; plays bowling and volleyball; love the outdoor/nature; have been teaching/tutoring since high-school. Most important of all: I believe learning happens when it is fun, hence, I see to it that there is an element of fun in academics.   I have finished my MBA in 2000 and started teaching in the same university right after. I was teaching Business Management and Human Resource Management. I sat as panelist to MBA graduating students in the defense of their strategic paper. I occupied various executive positions in the real estate business and insurance industry. I did consulting works to banks, government entitites, manufacturing, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. Right now I teach in the Long Island Business Institute handling Introduction to Business, Markeitng, Small Business Management, Business Math, and Human Relations in the Workplace.

• ESL/ESOL

  I have taught ESL for over 3 years to immigrants. Specifically, my students were Polish, Koreans, Chinese, and Russians. I make use of various approaches in teaching ESL depending on the level of the students. The most challenging in teaching ESL is for beginners. The total physical response is most appropriate and enjoyable for the students. This also calls for a lot of creativity in coming up with exercises.

  I have conducted an MS training program to hospital staff (NY) that covers Word, Excel and Powerpoint. In my MBA both as a student and teacher, most of our presentations and discussions were powerpoint-based. My business proposals are all done in powerpoint. As a training consultant, my teaching methods make use of powerpoint presentations. These include animations, attachments of actual pictures, graphs and tables from excel, background, boarders, fill-in effects and other designs that should all match the topic and the audience.
