Hi --
My name is Jennifer, and I have over 3 years experience tutoring elementary and high school students.
I enjoy tutoring because I was once a student who learned quite differently from others. Most of my teachers did not know how to teach me, especially when it came to science and math.
So, when I entered college at American University, I began tutoring children in an at-risk neighborhood in Washington, DC, many of whom had learning and behavioral challenges. I was trained to learn to teach all types of learners - visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. I know how to present information to all learners, which helps my students and encourages me, too.
I am seasoned in most areas of study. The following are my strengths: Beginning Spanish, Humanities (English, writing, proofreading, etc.), H.S. biology, and Religion studies. |
