About
Yvonne: |
I understand the frustration one can develop when faced with a particularly challenging subject. By analyzing the student’s personality and schedule, we (parents, student, myself) can develop a set of study habits for the student that will motivate him or her to work. This is very important because I only serve as a guide, just like any other effective tutor. The journey to knowledge must be traveled by the student alone. I tell all my students… If I drove you to and from an unknown destination, the odds of you remembering how to get their on your own are very slim. But if I gave you good directions and told you what you need to get there, you can arrive at the destination whenever you wish if you listened and took good notes. This leads me to the most important factor in attaining the best results. The student must practice, practice, practice. If it were only as easy as listening to a lecture about Trigonometry, everyone would know it. It is not that easy. We will work hard together so you can develop techniques that work best for you. **Hourly rate is negotiable based on the number of hours and location.** Best Regards, Yvonne |

Discrete Mathematics has been the most beneficial math course I have taken. I won't say that I learned to see math in a new way because it teaches you to see math and numbers in so many ways-from a theoretical to a computational perspective. I was fortunate to have a professor that motivated me to work on application problems in addition to the class work. This gave me the opportunity to discuss some basic applications that illustrated the course goals. Throughout the entire semester I diligently took notes and tried to help my classmates see the relationships that some of the problems required. Because I had so many requests for help from my classmates I began posting a few proofs and solutions to my problems on my Discrete Math blog page. I still have a few more proofs to put up and some commentary on others. Nevertheless, it is a work in progress. I believe that I have the knowledge and enthusiasm to help others not only learn how to solve Discrete Math problems, but enjoy the course as well. I didn't get to cover all the chapters in the book, but I covered the most essential chapters such as those that help you write proofs, count, add, divide, and solve graph theory problems. I will continue to study this book very diligently because I realize it has helped my analytical skills.

Student Reviews:
very knowledgable, understanding. great tutor
She has ample experience of ESL tutoring.
She listens carefully to me and sincerely try to help me.
I think I found the great way to improve my English skill with her help.
One tiny complaint is just a little bit expensive.
Thank you
