My experiences as an educator. I have successfully coached for the City of Davis, youth basketball league for the ages of 9-12 years old. I tried to install in these children what teamwork means and how to be successful if they trusted each other. Also, help children overcome mental challenges that face them in learning basketball.
I also have worked as a Para-educator III for Davis Joint Unified school district. I worked with child that have physical and mental disabilities, autism and children that were behind in school in a high school setting. While working with autistic children, I would teach them about life skills and basic math and English. When working with these children, I would take them to classes to incorporate them into real life situations.
As a Para-educator III, I worked with children that are behind somewhat is school. I have help these children with projects and papers. I have help some children in writing resumes, helping them with math (pre-algebra to pre-calculus), help with physical education and history.
I also worked with SED (severely emotional and disturbed) children in a residential home, taking them to school; seeing homework is being completed.
I love to work with children, I believe seeing that light bulb turn on or the first A grade is a great fulfillment in life. I believe that I am the right one to help achieve this and also to lead the path of continued success throughout their academic life.
