I am a college graduate looking to tutor in my spare time. I work as an ecologist at The Nature Conservancy of Arizona, a non-profit conservation organization. I use biology, mathematics, and the other natural sciences daily in my work. I graduated from high school as a National Merit Scholar and member of the National Honor Society, and I maintained a 3.3 GPA at one of the top ten liberal arts colleges in the nation. I greatly enjoy working with people, and I have tutored informally and formally throughout my life. My formal experience tutoring is from high school, where I worked one-on-one with middle school students in a range of subjects. Informally, I have always helped my peers: editing papers and explaining challenging topics when asked. I think learning occurs differently for everyone, but I also know that the greatest joy can come from new understanding. I am positive, bright, energetic, patient, and kind. I will encourage you to be your best and will find a way to help you learn. I have taken college-level courses in English, Writing, Chemistry, Physics, Math, and Biology, and I can tutor anyone up through high school. I look forward to meeting you!
