 About Nick:
Hello! My name is Nick and I love working with kids. I currently teach tennis to sixth graders. I have won 4 state championships in tennis, including 2 state championships at 2 Doubles. I have been selected to first-team all-state three times as well. I was a captain senior year. I have had a year-end ranking as high as 1 in Southeastern Michigan by the USTA. I love the game of tennis and am thrilled to teach it to anyone of any age or skill level. I also tutor high school freshmen in all subjects regularly. I have a great grasp on almost all of the coursework one would find in high school and love engaging students. Many people understand the material, but I try to effectively communicate concepts that are often hard to understand in the book. Sometimes its easiest to learn when you put things in simple terms and have fun! I have taken 9 high school AP courses and received the highest grade (5) on all the exam scores I have received. I am particularly interested in the sciences and math, and like trying to put the concepts in more basic terms, which are easier to understand. I also love and am very knowledgeable about American history and much of world history. I am attending Duke University and hope to major in both biology and philosophy, possibly with a concentration in neuroscience. I have taken classes at Stanford University concerning moral philosophy, neuroscience, and "The Psychology of Peak Performance" (great for everyone, especially tennis players though!) and received all A's. I scored 2280 on the SAT and 35 on the ACT, and know the ins and outs of those tests and the strategies that often work. If you are looking for a tutor in either one of these tests, (especially the ACT), I think I can greatly help. I try to make my services as cheap as possible, but if you see another tutor who you think has equal credentials and charges less, let me know and I'll lower my prices even further. I honestly love helping others unravel studies that have become too convoluted for their own good. If you have any questions or interest, please do not hesitate to contact me! Thank you.

Learn More About Nick's Experience:
ACT
I scored a 35 on the ACT and did not score lower than 34 on any section. I received 11 out of 12 on the essay (although I got 12/12 on the SAT's essay). In 2007 only 314 students scored better and less than 2500 students scored equally. These scores also place me in the top percentile in each of the 4 sections. I have bought books and studied for the test, and know which techniques work the best. From personal experience, I believe each person should approach the test different with their own set of techniques and strategies, however, it is correctly choosing and using strategies that can show great score improvements. I think everyone can score at least a 10 on the essay if they know what the scorers are looking for. With unlimited time, the ACT is not an extremely difficult test, however the conditions make it more a time management than academic test. The skills needed to do well for this can be learned and I look forward to working with students to maximize their score.
