I'm a recent graduate of the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. I'm a vocalist and have been singing for many years. Before moving to Hollywood I was at Long Beach State for 2 years in the opera program. I now teach vocal technique, opera, rock, and pop. More On Nicole's Subjects:

  • ear training

I've been taking ear training along side music theory for 3+ years and have never gotten lower than an A in my classes. I am very good at hearing melodies, rhythms, and both combined. I have tutored multipled students in ear training levels 1-2 and have seen improvement and results. As long as the student has patience for learning the subject I love to teach it.

  • music theory

I have been taking music theory for 3+ years and have never gotten a grade lower than an A in my classes. Other students I've helped in music theory levels 1-2 have seen great results on test scores. I understand and can teach everything from the basics of theory to modulation and modes.

  • piano

I've been playing piano since I was 14. I started off on classical and now use it to write songs and melodies in a more rock/pop sound. I know scales, major and minor, and inversions. The basics on piano, I know, and can help others learn.

  • voice (music)

Voice is my main instrument..I've been singing for 5+ years. While finishing high school I also attended the Opera Institute in northern california for a year. From there I went to Long Beach State on a voice scholarship for 2 years. I know sing/perform frequently in a band I'm in and also teach students at the Musicians Institute and a few outside of there. I teach vocal technique, opera, rock, and pop. I love to teach voice more than anything! It's such a great instrument to have and love to see others improve.

  • volleyball

I played volleyball for 6 years in both club and school. I played for the highest level teams in my area and also was on varsity all 4 years of high school. I won a state championship with saint francis high school in mountain view and started during that season as a right side/setter. I have worked many volleyball camps and know the game. I also played beach volleyball for a few summers and worked at avp camps.
