About Fides May:

Hi! I'm new to the Tampa Bay area (about 7 months) and would love to work with you! I've been teaching music for over 25 years and I enjoy working with anyone who is truly interested in improving their skills/understanding of their subject matter, especially in music and Spanish.

I have worked with students of all ages from 4 years old all the way up to 75 years old--- and we have fun! Learning should be fun and if it's not, there's something missing!

With Music Education as my major and Spanish as my minor, graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, I have studied with many active professional musicians in the industry, including John Novello (whose book was endorsed by Chick Corea), Mario Feninger (world-renowned concert pianist) and Al Velasquez who has toured and played with Benise.

My way of teaching is to empower the student to understand and apply whatever subject matter he/she is studying so that the student is no longer dependent on the teacher.

Being of Filipina origin (still speaking my native languages from the Philippines) I also speak Spanish having studied in Madrid, Spain and am currently learning Italian. I love languages!
