ESL/ESOL I love teaching ESL because I enjoy meeting people of diverse ethnic backgrounds. I've done a lot of traveling and I'm familiar with different cultures. I'm fluent in Spanish and English, however English is my first language. I'm a little familiar with French and Portuguese, but I could still use a little practice. I taught ESL several years ago in Puebla, Mexico for 1 year. I taught basic ESL to Advanced Conversation at a language institute to teens and adults. During my stay that year in Puebla I also taught at La Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Puebla to university level students. Finally, I gave private tutorial classes in the evening. After my stay in Mexico I returned back to San Antonio, Texas where I'm from and I taught ESL Adult Basic Education classes at a community learning center while I was attending grad school. I'm certified to teach ESL to middle school and high schools students as well as adults. Overall, I have over 7 years of classroom teaching experience. I use a well-rounded approach to teaching and make sure my students get practice in all aspects of second language learning; listening, speaking, reading and writing.
