About Teresa:

My name is Terri, I taught for the Toledo Public school system for 6 years, mostly 2nd grade. I was also a substitute teacher for the Strongsville School system for 3 years. I have two children ages 17 and 15. I have been a Strongsville, Ohio resident for the last 10 years. I co-ran a successful extra-curricular math program at my children's elementary school for 3 years. I was an active member of the elementary school PTA and I taught Sunday school to preschoolers. I have been tutoring on and off for the last 18 years. I am currently tutoring a first grader in reading and math. I feel my strengths as a tutor are how I am able to relate to students of the pre-school and elementary ages. I am able to hold their attention for the full hour and I am able to make learning fun and interesting. My students are eager for me to arrive and disappointed when it is time for me to leave. I feel this is key to successful tutoring. If children are not motivated to learn, they won't. I am also very organized, at least 1-2 hours of preparation is done for every 1 hour tutoring session. I am committed to helping kids, if I feel that I cannot help your child succeed in school, I will not tutor your child. I do this job because I love kids and I think that I do it well.
