About
William: |
|
Hello,
My name is Will and I am a sophomore at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration.
I recently moved from Madrid, Spain after living there for two years and now live in Loudoun County. Before living in Spain, I lived in London, DC, NY, and Atlanta.
I have tutored consistently for three years now. While in Spain, I tutored middle school students for an hour a day, every day. At Cornell University, I tutor economics and Spanish.
I'm flexible, fun, and easy to work with. Like you, I too had to go through the difficulties of doing well on the SAT, getting into college, and achieving high grades. I never was a great student, but I have strategies and tactics that I've developed and want to share them! For example, my SAT score was below 1200! How did I get into an IVY League school? Let me work with you and I can show you!

economics
|
Like business, I have a passion for economics as they go hand in hand. I am qualified to teach economics because of the following:
1)Relevant Coursework at Cornell University.
Microeconomics for the service industry, Business Management I & II, financial accounting.
2) Wiggio.com campus rep.
As part of wiggio.com I am responsible for plotting demand curves for the product versus how available we need to make the product.
Economics is tied closely with business as the laws of supply and demand dictate the price of commodities daily. I can connect core concepts with real world applications to show students how the formals and standards learned in the classroom are relevant in our world today.
Additionally, I have experience applying those concepts to a start up business, and can show students how they too can use the material they learned in the classroom and make it useful to them on a daily basis.
I can tutor all the way up to the University level.

ESL/ESOL
|
I am qualified to teach ESL due to the following:
1). Extensive Experience overseas: I lived in Spain, London, and the US throughout my life. I spent two and a half years in Spain and was in a school were 60% of the students spoke Spanish to one another. I learned that even if the classes were conducted in English, these Spanish speaking students had trouble understanding. I tutored many of them daily on vocabulary, grammar, and writing techniques so they could succeed in an English speaking environment.
I am qualified to teach ESL up to the high school level.
